Details of service in war: Served in Driscoll's Scouts from January 1900, initially in the northern Cape, then in the Orange Free State as the war proceeded to the guerilla phase. In early 1901 resigned to join Roberts' Horse. Enlisted in Roberts' Horse 24 April 1901 and served until 3 January 1902 when the unit was disbanded. Roberts' Horse operated in the east and west Transvaal during this time.
Service and life after the Boer War: lived in Meekatharra Western Australia. Had a family of 1 girl, 2 boys before moving to Perth inthe 1940's. Died in Subiaco WA.
